Government Of the People and For the People

Law Enforcement

Do the Right Thing for Cops and Citizens

We recognize that there are some bad people and groups out there. We must enforce laws in line with our great classic American principles of justice and liberty, with respect for all involved.

Grant calls for good funding and management to keep our excellent civil servants in this critical function.

Shared Responsibility and Mutual Respect

Respect for the Rule of Law

Picture of the Supreme Court of the United States of America Our system of government and legal system is based on trustworthiness and accountability. It requires much from both the public servants we pay to operate the system and the public playing their part. The most efficient system is a police state dictatorship, but that is not what the founding fathers created here.

In our free society we have a system of checks and balances which complicate things and protect the public and the accused from government tyranny. While civil liberties are essential to our system it places additional burdens and even physical dangers on official charged to operate the system

While awaiting trial and after conviction the jails and prisons must uphold the humanity of those held. Systemic injustice and crimes on prisoners by officials, or between prisoners, can create even more dangerous criminal monsters, seeking to repay a society that operated the system.

People must have good reason to trust in the honesty of crime laboratories, the testimony and impartiality of officials. Crimes and cover-ups committed by those trusted to enforce the laws are especially destructive to the foundations of our system. Official crimes need to be vigorously prosecuted with enhanced penalties.

Law enforcement officials often have a difficult job, requiring tremendous courage and self control in the face of the unknown. They encounter the darkest elements of our society as well as the innocent public and those in between. The people need to assist in crime prevention and investigations, and participate in the jury system. We must give officials the tools they need to serve us and our free society. We must pay them well, encourage them, and honor them as we do our soldiers, for they stand between a free civil society and chaos.
