Grant Rostig was born in Toronto Canada in 1959 to Canadian parents, a first generation German father and second generation British mother.

At age two, the family moved to West Germany for 5 years, where Grant learned German attending a German elementary school. The family returned to Canada in 1967, where Grant learned English and French. Grant volunteered and served in the Canadian Army Reserve where he learned about service and the defense of freedom. In college, he studied sciences and accounting which gained him employment in the computer field.

The move to the US was prompted by desire for greater freedom and economic opportunity. He had been living in Montreal, when the French speaking majority took over the reigns of power, and outlawed the use of English in business. As an English speaker he could no longer get a job because employers wanted only native French speakers.

Grant immigrated to the US in 1983. He arrived in California with only a few hundred dollars and a broken down old 1973 Ford Pinto. Immediately finding simple manual labor, he eventually worked and contracted with both large and small businesses in California and Minnesota. Later, Grant studied and practiced Chiropractic in Minnesota. He became a naturalized US citizen in 1989.

Upon arrival, he read the party planks of both the major parties, and found he agreed with some aspects of both. He loves the principles of freedom, which were more prominent in the Republican Party. Grant supported President Reagan because of his common sense American values. Finally he discovered the liberty wing of the Republican Party and found it best represented his dedication to 'freedom with personal responsibility'.

Grant settled in Texas in 2001 to start a Chiropractic business and ranch. He is currently running full time for Congress as a Texas Republican in CD 25. He resides in Lockhart.
